<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a laminate structure; an electronic device material; a novel aromatic compound capable of securing a higher current density at a given voltage, in particular as a hole-transport and/or hole-injection material; a method for manufacturing the aromatic compound; a hole-injection and/or hole-transport material; and an electronic device. <P>SOLUTION: There are provided: a laminate structure that has a substrate and a hole-injection and/or hole-transport layer containing an aromatic compound that has, in a side chain, at least one kind of group having a cationic center; an electronic device that has the laminate structure; an aromatic compound that has, in a hydrocarbon side chain, at least one kind of group having a cationic center; an aromatic compound that has an elimination group in a hydrocarbon side chain; and a method for manufacturing the aromatic compound having, in a hydrocarbon side chain, at least one kind of group having a cationic center. In the method, the aromatic compound having an elimination group in a hydrocarbon side chain is reacted with a specific nitrogen compound, phosphorus compound, sulfur compound, or a combination of two or more such compounds, and thereby the aromatic compound is converted into an onium salt thereof. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
