<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording device and a drying control method, cooling a surface of an impression cylinder for drying paper to uniformize a temperature of the impression cylinder surface and performing optimal drying temperature control in accordance with paper types. <P>SOLUTION: The image recording device includes: a drum temperature measuring unit measuring a surface temperature of a portion which does not come into contact with paper and a surface temperature of a portion coming contact with a paper; a heating unit heating the surface of a drum, and heating and drying a paper which is being carried; a cooling unit cooling the surface of the drum; and a temperature control unit controlling the heating unit and the cooling unit in accordance with the temperature of the paper measured by a paper temperature measuring unit when the paper is being carried, controlling the heating unit and cooling unit in accordance with the surface temperature of the portion of the drum which does not come into contact with the paper measured by the drum temperature measuring unit except when the paper is being carried, and uniformizing the temperature of the paper or the surface temperature of the portion of the drum coming into contact with the paper and the portion which does not come into contact with the paper. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
