<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device capable of continuing more stable assist force application when steering torque based on one sensor signal is detected. <P>SOLUTION: When assist continuation control using a sensor signal (residual sensor signal) output from a sensor element in which a failure is not detected is executed, an ECU controls the operation of an EPS actuator so that periodical and instantaneous motor torque may be applied to a steering system in relation to a changed direction of an assist force. An abnormality of the residual sensor signal is detected on the basis of whether the application of the instantaneous motor torque is reflected on the residual sensor signal being a base of the assist continuation control. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
