<p>A light guide which includes a mirror box defined by a cavity 23 where the walls 31, 33 and 39 are mirrors. The light guide also has an aperture 25 for light to leave the light guide and a transmissive diffuser 27, for spreading or scattering the illumination, which is located at the aperture. The light guide is also able to incorporate a light source 19 inside the cavity. The light guide may have a shutter 41 for controlling the amount of light leaving the light guide and may also have a plurality of light elements and the mirror box may provide for multiple reflections. The light guide may also be shaped to narrow towards the aperture end.</p> |
