The engine (1) has cylinder drum (2) provided with the piston recess (3) for displaceably mounting a piston (4). The cylinder drum is supported in the region of a control plate (SP) by a hydrostatic sliding bearing position (G) on housing (15). The piston is supported by hydrostatic sliding bearing position on a raceway (6). A bearing metal layer is formed on a slide support structure of the hydrostatic sliding bearing position by laser welding. An independent claim is included for method for forming bearing metal layer at support structure of hydrostatic sliding bearing position.
