摘要 [Problem] To provide a method for controlling the rotational frequency of an engine for industrial machinery and a device for controlling an engine for industrial machinery that, without using an added switch, sensor, or the like and without necessitating an operation by an operator, are capable of distinguishing a state wherein work is not actually being performed and executing an automatic deceleration function. [Solution] The device for controlling an engine for industrial machinery, said device controlling the engine that drives a hydraulic pump for supplying hydraulic pressure to a hydraulic device that operates by means of hydraulic pressure, is provided with: a rotational frequency control means that controls the engine in a manner so that the engine rotational frequency becomes a target rotational frequency on the basis of the designation of the target rotational frequency; a load detection means that detects a control parameter that correlates with a load on the engine; and a rotational frequency reducing means that distinguishes whether or not the value of the control parameter has become less than a predetermined reduction threshold value, and when the value of the control parameter has become less than the reduction threshold value, reduces the engine rotational frequency regardless of the designation of the target rotational frequency.
