<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a collector for a lithium ion battery electrode, a method for manufacturing the collector for a lithium ion battery electrode, and a lithium ion battery using the collector for a lithium ion battery electrode. <P>SOLUTION: A collector for a lithium ion battery electrode according to the present invention includes a metal piece and a protective film covered on at least one surface of the metal piece. The protective film comprises at least one selected from (Al<SB POS="POST">x</SB>M<SB POS="POST">y</SB>PO<SB POS="POST">4</SB>) and (Al<SB POS="POST">x</SB>M<SB POS="POST">y</SB>(PO<SB POS="POST">3</SB>)<SB POS="POST">3</SB>), where the M is one or more selected from Cr, Zn, Cu, Mg, Zr, Mo, V, Nb, and Ta, and has a valence of k. 0<x<1...(formula 1) 0<y<1...(formula 2) 3x+ky=3 ...(formula 3) The x and y satisfy the formulae 1 to 3.
