<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent occurrence of a streak due to discontinuous dot patterns in a joined image. <P>SOLUTION: An image processing device dividing an m-value image into plural divided images and quantizing each of the divided images to an n-value image (2≤n<m) includes: a first quantization part for quantizing a first region of a divided image in the same manner as in a joining destination region; and a second quantization part for continuously quantizing a second region of the divided image including the first region. In addition, when the second quantization part quantizes the first region, a result of quantizing of the first region in the second quantization part is approximated to a result of quantizing a divided image of a joining destination in the second quantization part by correcting a parameter related to the quantization processing by using a result of quantization of the first quantization part so that the quantization result is close to that of the first quantization part, thereby smoothing a seam portion of the image and preventing discontinuity of dot patterns in the joined image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
