<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To substantially shorten apparent starting time of an information processor to which an external electronic apparatus is connected via a digital video input/output interface. <P>SOLUTION: Processing for establishing a communicable sate with a connected electronic apparatus is performed when a main switch is turned off in a time zone when the main switch is highly possibly predicted to receive an instruction of ON. Communication is quickly started between the information processor and the electronic apparatus after the main switch actually receives the instruction of ON. A black picture signal is outputted to the electronic apparatus until the main switch is actually turned on after the communicable state is established between the information processor and the electronic apparatus. Thus, the information processor is viewed to be not operated in the picture of the electronic apparatus while the information processor is operated.
