摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress diffusion of heat from a heating resistor in a planar direction of an upper substrate via electrode parts and improve printing efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: The thermal head 10 includes: a substrate body 13 made by bonding a flat plate-shaped support substrate 12 to a flat plate-shaped upper plate substrate 14 in a stacked state; a heating resistor 15 formed on the surface of the upper plate substrate 14; and a pair of electrode parts 17A, 17B which are connected to both ends of the heating resistor 15 and supply power to the heating resistor 15. The substrate body 13 includes a cavity portion 23 in a region opposed to the heating resistor 15 at a bonding portion between the support substrate 12 and the upper plate substrate 14, and at least one side of the electrode parts 17A, 17B includes a thin thickness portion 18 thinner than the thickness of the other regions in the region opposed to the cavity portion 23. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
