<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separator for a nonaqueous electrolyte battery which has a cycle stability for charging and discharging, especially excellent capacity stability on repeated charging and discharging over a long period of time, and has high resistance to short-circuit. <P>SOLUTION: A separator for a nonaqueous electrolyte battery comprises a base material layer containing a polyolefin and a heat-resistant porous layer containing a heat-resistant polymer, and satisfies the conditions (i) and (ii). (i) The heat-resistant porous layer contains 0.1 to 1000 ppm of one or two or more kinds of element selected from the group consisting of alkali metals, alkaline earth metals, transition metals, halogens, and silicon. (ii) The base material layer satisfies at least one of the conditions (A) to (E). (A)The base material layer contains 0.1 to 3 ppm of at least one kind of element selected from Fe, Cr, and Ni. (B) The base material layer contains 0.1 to 30 ppm of at least one kind of element selected from Ti and Zr. (C) The base material layer contains 0.1 to 50 ppm of at least one kind of element selected from Al and B. (D) The base material layer contains 1 to 70 ppm of at least one kind of element selected from alkali metals and alkaline earth metals. and (E) The base material layer contains 1 to 200 ppm of a halogen. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
