<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress such a trouble that binding processing is performed on a bundle of recording materials in a second binding position in a state in which the bundle of recording materials has been deformed, by suppressing deformation of the bundle of recording materials possibly causing when the bundle of recording materials is released from being supported in a first binding position due to the movement of a binding mechanism. <P>SOLUTION: When first and second binding units 510 and 520 move in a direction to separate from each other, rotary plates 513 separately provided in the first and second binding units 510 and 520 project toward the central part of the sheet bundle T already subjected to the binding processing. Consequently, even if a gap between the first and second binding units 510 and 520 is increased due to the movement of the first and second binding units 510 and 520 in a direction to separate from each other, the sheet bundle T is supported from beneath by the rotary plates 513, thereby the distortion of the sheet bundle T is suppressed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
