PAPER SHEET HANDLING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper sheet handling device that hardly causes a paper jamming during storage.

SOLUTION: The paper sheet handling device 100 includes: a paper sheet storage section 130; a paper sheet carrying-in opening 131 which is provided in the paper sheet storage section; a bottom plate 180 which is disposed below the paper sheet carrying-in opening of the paper sheet storage section and which can move depending on the amount of paper money stored in the paper sheet storage section; a control section 150 which controls the movement of the bottom plate so that a distance between the paper sheet carrying-in opening and an uppermost portion of the paper sheet stored in the paper sheet storage section can fall within a predetermined range; and a discrimination section 120 which discriminates among the paper sheet stored in the paper storage section. The control section lowers the bottom plate each time a paper sheet is stored in the paper sheet storage section and adjusts a bottom plate lowering width depending on the condition of the stored paper sheets.
