<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ring bookbinding apparatus that binds a good-looking book by ring bookbinding with its end surfaces aligned, and to provide an image forming system equipped with the ring bookbinding apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The ring bookbinding apparatus includes: a setting means which sets positions for boring holes for a ring binder, which are installed on one edge of a paper bundle, by changing the hole boring positions for each sheet or a plurality of sheets of papers constituting the paper bundle; a boring means for boring a plurality of holes at the boring positions which have been set by the setting means; a paper housing means which forms the paper bundle by housing and aligning a plurality of bored papers; and a ring bookbinding means which mounts the ring binder on the aligned paper bundle for ring bookbinding. The ring bookbinding apparatus binds a book by ring bookbinding with the edges of the paper bundle aligned.
