Disclosed is a method for producing a lithium metal phosphate, the method involving the step of making a transformation reaction from a lithium ion (Li+) source, such as lithium hydroxide, a divalent transition metal ion (M2+) source, such as a divalent transition metal sulfate, and a phosphate ion (PO4 3-) source, such as phosphoric acid, to a lithium metal phosphate start and proceed at 150°C or higher in the presence of a polar solvent. The transformation reaction is started and made to proceed by: bringing a solution (A) containing one type of ion from among said lithium ion, said divalent transition metal ion, or said phosphate ion into contact with a solution (B) containing the other types of ions at 150°C or higher; or raising the pH of a solution (C) having a pH below 4 and containing said lithium ions, said divalent transition metal ions, and said phosphate ions to greater than or equal to 4. |
