<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector capable of preventing a situation that light from a solid light source is directly output to the outside by damage of a fluorescent substance while grasping a deterioration state of the fluorescent substance. <P>SOLUTION: A projector 1 includes: a solid light source 11 which emits excitation light; a fluorescent substance 13b which converts the excitation light into fluorescent light; a liquid crystal optical modulation device 30 which modulates the light from the fluorescent substance 13b; a projection optical system 50 which projects the light modulated by the liquid crystal optical modulation device 30 on a screen; an optical sensor 63 which detects at least one of the excitation light through the fluorescent substance 13b and the fluorescent light modulated by the fluorescent substance 13b; and a control circuit 64 which controls at least one of the solid light source 11 and the liquid crystal optical modulation device 30 according to a detection result of the optical sensor 63. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
