<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the possibility that a joint pipe is jointed in an inclined posture. <P>SOLUTION: The insertion type pipe joint 20 includes a joint body 30, a disconnection prevention member 34, a cylindrical retaining member 36, a fall prevention member 32 and packing 44. The joint body 30 has a receiving port 60. The disconnection prevention member 34 is engaged with the outer circumferential surface of a joint pipe when the end part of the joint pipe is inserted in the joint body 30. The retaining member 36 retains the disconnection prevention member 34. The fall prevention member 32 prevents the retaining member 36 from being removed and fallen out of the joint body 30. The packing 44 closely contacts with the outer circumferential surface of the joint pipe. A part of the fall prevention member 32 which the joint pipe penetrates has an inner diameter larger than the outer diameter of the joint pipe and not larger than the diameter of the admission port 450 in the support member 40. The fall prevention member 32 includes a tool admission path 330.
