<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an integrated member and a method of manufacturing the same capable of reducing manufacturing cost by reducing the number of manufacturing processes to obtain the integrated member by integrating members that have mutually different required characteristics by welding, and improving yield by preventing a crack and the like in welding. <P>SOLUTION: This integrated member is obtained through the following steps: an electric resistance welding step S2 in which a shaft component is formed of a member that has a higher carbon content than an annular component, and while the shaft component 3 is pressed into the annular component, a current is carried to the press-in part, and thereby the shaft component can be integrated with the annular component by performing electric resistance welding; and a carburized-layer formation process S4 in which carburized layers are respectively formed on the shaft component and the annular component, in accordance with the characteristics required for them by either carburizing or carbonitriding the integrated member obtained in the electric resistance welding step S2 and then quenching and tempering the integrated member.
