A multiple-plate filter press, in which each plate (10, 12) is covered with a web-like filter element (18), for example with a filter cloth, and alternately every second filter plate (12) is provided with passageways (22, 23) which connect the filter chamber (14) with a source of compressed air, so that following a conventional filter procedure, compressed air can be passed into the filter chamber (14), in order to compress the filter cake located therein and to act like an air ram on the filter cake so that the moisture between the particles of the filter cake is removed. |
