<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transmit application data which determines a necessary part of a driving signal to be applied to an element, more efficiently. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid ejector includes a driving signal generation unit, a basic application data transmission unit, an application data generation unit, and a driving signal application unit. The driving signal generation unit generates a driving signal for driving an element that operates to discharge liquid. The basic application data transmission unit transmits basic application data of predetermined types and predetermined number of bits, as the base of application data that determines a necessary part of a driving signal to be applied to the element, in parallel. The application data generation unit generates application data of fewer types than the predetermined types and larger number of bits than the predetermined number of bits based on the basic application data.
