<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a socket for an optical fiber capable of simplifying an optical axis aligning work of the optical fiber and a photoelectric conversion element and improving the optical axis aligning accuracy. <P>SOLUTION: A socket 1 for an optical fiber includes: a circuit block 3 including a circuit board 31 and a resin-made sleeve block receiving member 32 molded simultaneously with the circuit board 31; and a sleeve block 4. The sleeve block receiving member 32 includes a plurality of fitting holes 32a, and the sleeve block 4 includes a plurality of fitting projections 43. In a state where the fitting projections 43 are fitted into the fitting holes 32a, the fitting holes 32a and the fitting projections 43 are positioned so that optical axes of the optical fiber 5 inserted into the sleeve block 4 and the photoelectric conversion element 2 on the circuit board 31 are aligned. Accordingly, the optical axes can be aligned by only the fitting and inserting works. In addition, optical axis aligning accuracy is improved by making each accuracy of dimensions and positions of the fitting holes 32 have the same degree because a dimensional error is 1 μm or less in maximum molding accuracy by a molding technique. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
