<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a three-dimensional radiation position detector that has a detection unit easily built up with a small number of scintillator crystals without using a reflecting material while being capable of estimating a depth at a light emission position through operation among a small number of pixels. <P>SOLUTION: The three-dimensional radiation position detector includes an optical detector having a plurality of optical detection parts and scintillator crystal bodies having uniaxial optical anisotropy and succeeding in one axial direction, the scintillator crystal bodies being arranged on the optical detector such that the one axial direction and a normal direction on an optical detection surface are not straight. The scintillator crystal bodies have a length three times or more than an array pitch of the plurality of optical detection parts, and the uniaxial anisotropy allows 4% or more of scintillation light in a region, farthest away from the optical detection part, right above the optical detection part to reach the optical detection part and 4-35% of scintillation light in a region nearby the optical detection part to reach the optical detection part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
