<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain an ink stain from sticking to the surface of a recording sheet when the rear edge of the recording sheet passes through a carrier roller nip. <P>SOLUTION: This inkjet recorder includes: an upstream sheet conveying means having a carrier roller and a pinch roller; a recording head disposed downstream of the upstream sheet conveying means and having a liquid ejection port arrangement surface; a carriage that supports the recording head and performs reciprocating scanning; and a platen for supporting the sheet in a position to face the recording head. The pinch roller abuts on the carrier roller in a position deviated downstream in the conveying direction of the carrier roller. The inkjet recorder further includes a control means for moving the carriage so that the ink ejection port array arrangement surface of the recording head is located outside the side edge of the sheet in conveying the sheet when the rear end of the sheet passes through the nip between the carrier roller and the pinch roller. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
