OBJECT DETECTION SYSTEM AND METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To specify the same object with continuity even in the case where an object is not detected temporarily by shielding laser beams radiated from a laser sensor with any obstacle.

SOLUTION: The number of search grids comprised of a search space for searching for an object in a monitoring area and squares of predetermined units for searching for the object is set for each object, and range finding is performed on the object being present within the monitoring area from obtained range finding data with the passage of time. In the case where laser beams are shielded by any obstacle and the object can not be detected temporarily, the search space is irradiated with laser beams, thereby searching for the object with the passage of time. A position of the object is searched and tracked while dealing with the search of the object with the passage of time, and data obtained by the tracking are used to display a trajectory of the object.
