Provided is an illumination device that is capable of suppressing the incidence of brightness unevenness. The illumination device is provided with: an LED substrate (26) to which an LED package (25) is mounted; a reflecting sheet (23) that has an exposure hole (23c) for exposing the LED package (25); and a joining member (27) that joins the reflecting sheet (23) and the LED substrate (26) to each other. Also, the joining member (27) is disposed in a manner so as to encircle the surroundings of the LED package (25), and the rim section (23d) of the exposure hole (23c) is joined to the LED substrate (26) with the joining member (27) therebetween.
