<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switching power supply device and an LED lighting device that can prevent overcurrent due to saturation of a choke coil to avoid switching element destruction during starting-up of the switching power supply device and/or under abnormal high temperature conditions, and can simplify the circuit configuration. <P>SOLUTION: A switching power supply device 300 turns off a switch 10 to activate a resistor 11 during starting-up of the switching power supply device and under abnormal high temperature conditions, limits current flowing through a choke coil 8 with a voltage drop across the resistor 11, prevents overcurrent due to saturation of the choke coil 8, and thus can prevent destruction of a switching element 5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
