SEAL BODY FOR PIPE FITTING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seal body for pipe fitting to be interposed between the flange faces of a pair of fluid conveying pipes installed facing each other and formed annularly to constitute a pipe joint part which seals and joins together the two conveying pipes, in which an improvement is introduced to avoid noise emission from the pipe fitting structural part.

SOLUTION: The seal body for pipe fitting to be interposed between the flange faces 5a and 9a of a pair of fluid conveying pipes 1 and 2 installed facing each other and formed annularly to constitute a pipe joint part T which seals and joins together the two fluid conveying pipes 1 and 2, includes a sliding surface 10 to abut by a spherical surface to one of the flange faces 5a to enable angular displacements of the fluid conveying pipes 1 and 2 to take place and a side end face 11 to abut to the other flange face 9a in the axial P direction of the side end face 11, wherein the side end face 11 is furnished with a recess B which enables a lubricant j to be retained.
