PURPOSE:To provide a small-type lightweight printer capable of printing at a high speed, by a method wherein the transmission of rotation from a motor to a type wheel and a printing hammer are set to either one of ON and OFF conditions, and a rotation-transmitting means is controlled by a type wheel selecting member. CONSTITUTION:A rotary shaft mechanism which rotates the type wheel 4, 5, a shaft mechanism which rotates a hammer cam 12 for driving the printing hammer 11, and a paper feed shaft mechanism for feeding a recording paper are provided, and they are coupled to each other by a gear mechanism and a clutch mechanism. The transmission of rotation from the motor to the shaft mechanisms can be set to either one of the ON and OFF conditions, and the rotation- transmitting means is controlled by the type wheel selecting member. Accordingly, the number of driving sources can be reduced, the motor can be constantly rotated in a fixed direction, the mechanism is simple and the operation is secure. |
