<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device and a television receiver which is capable of reducing deterioration of an image quality caused by a light shielding part provided on a protection plate, applying to a display of a three dimensional image, and further corresponding to requirements for thinner products. <P>SOLUTION: A glass protection plate 3 having one surface thereof overlaid on a display surface of a liquid crystal panel 2 has the other surface thereof adhered to a polarizer 4. A light shielding part 40 is formed in such a manner as to rim the periphery part of the polarizer 4 to allow the protection plate 3 to hold original optical isotropy thereof, and thus prevent quality deterioration of a display image. The polarizer 4 works to prevent glass pieces from scattering when the protection plate 3 is damaged. The polarizer 4 also works as an upside polarizer provided originally on the liquid crystal panel 2 helping realization of a thinner liquid crystal display device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
