<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charging device in which a part between an opening of a corona charger and a surface of a photoreceptor can be shielded. <P>SOLUTION: The charging device comprises a corona charger 2 for charging a body to be charged. The corona charger 2 comprises an electrode 2b and a shield 2a having an opening at a side nearer to the body to be charged than the electrode 2b. The charging device comprises a sheet-like shutter 61 capable of opening/closing the opening; a mechanism which moves the shutter 61 in a longitudinal direction of the corona charger 2 to open/close the opening; a member 62 for winding the shutter moved by the mechanism in a direction in which the opening is opened; and a spring for energizing the member 62 in a rotation direction in which the shutter 61 is wound. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
