摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect variations in the quantity of toner per unit area of a toner image transferred by a transfer roll in a shaft direction of the transfer roll when suppressing the variations. <P>SOLUTION: In order to apply an electric voltage between a primary transfer roll 110 and a photoreceptor drum 4, electric current supplied from a power source is controlled to be changed to first electric current or second electric current whose quantity is smaller than that of the first electric current. When the electric current supplied from the power source is the second electric current, a quantity of toner per unit area of a toner image transferred to an intermediate transfer belt 10 is detected. According to the detected quantity of toner, adjustment means 120 causes a position of a shaft of the primary transfer roll 110 to be adjusted to control a pressing force by which the primary transfer roll 110 presses the intermediate transfer belt 10 to the photoreceptor drum 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
