<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus of effectively treating peracetic acid containing waste water which can drastically reduce cleaning frequencies in the apparatus by suppressing propagation of microorganisms inside the treatment apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: In the method of treating the peracetic acid containing waste water by contacting hydrogen peroxide and peracetic acid in water to be treated 8 with a peroxide decomposition material 1 selected from an activated carbon and a transition metal for decomposition and contacting ions containing a decomposition product with an ion exchange resin 5 for removal, treated water 2 with the content of hydrogen peroxide and peracetic acid ranging 1-10 mg/L is obtained from the water to be treated 8 containing hydrogen peroxide and peracetic acid to be decomposed by the peroxide decomposition material 1, an amount of a reducing agent 7 that can completely reduce the hydrogen peroxide and peracetic acid in the treated water 2 is added to the treated water 2 for reduction neutralization immediately before contacting the treated water 2 with the ion exchange resin 5, and the reduction-neutralized treated water is brought into contact with the ion exchange resin 5 in a form of a mixed bed where a cation exchange resin and an anion exchange resin are filled in together, wherein the treated water 2 can be treated by leaking and/or bypassing a part of the water to be treated 8 without being decomposed by the peroxide decomposition material 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
