PURPOSE:To obtain a multicolor ink ribbon capable of giving good color recordings permanently without causing the intermixture of inks of color zones by a method in which plural color zones of water-soluble inks are provided in parallel in the longitudinal direction of the ribbon and a water repellent is coated on the boundary lines between the color zones. CONSTITUTION:A water repellent is linearly coated on the boundary lines between the color zones 2b, 2c, 2m and 2y of a ribbon 1 formed of a synthetic fiber in a belt shape.
