<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device in which efficient alignment control suitable to an liquid crystal display of VA system can be performed, and deterioration in display quality in the liquid crystal display of VA system is prevented. <P>SOLUTION: The display device comprises a plurality of driving electrodes 33 which extend in a first direction (horizontal direction for instance), and are arranged in parallel to each other in a second direction (perpendicular direction for instance), and to which a driving signal is applied. An inter-electrode slit 33B is formed between two adjacent driving electrodes 33 so as to extend in the first direction. Each of the plurality of driving electrodes 33 may have an intra-electrode slit 33A arranged in the first direction at least in an effective display area.
