<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generally fix force retaining each optical fiber on an upper plate, and to keep the good uniting accuracy of an optical fiber connector, even if a shape of each V-shaped groove is not accurately uniform. <P>SOLUTION: On an outer peripheral surface 21a of an upper plate 20, grooves 22a, 22b, 22c, and 22d are formed in parallel so as to oppose to each V-shaped groove of a lower plate. Slits 24a, 24b, 24c, 24d, and 24e of predetermined length are formed from an outer peripheral surface 21b which is a side surface orthogonal to the grooves 22a, 22b, 22c, and 22d. The slit 24a is formed between an outer peripheral surface 21c which is a side surface in parallel with the groove 22a and the groove 22a. The slit 24b is formed between the groove 22a and the groove 22b. The slit 24c is formed between the groove 22b and the groove 22c. The slit 24d is formed between the groove 22c and the groove 22d.
