<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical information recording medium allowing addition and rewriting of a record by setting an initial state as a liquid crystal phase of a polymer (or a solid phase having liquid crystal orientation) in an organic thin film material whose phase is changed between a liquid crystal phase and an amorphous phase by the action of light and heat, and to provide a method for manufacturing the optical information recording medium, an optical information recording method using the optical information recording medium, an optical information record reading method and an optical information record erasing method. <P>SOLUTION: The optical information recording medium (an X-material) is composed of a side chain type liquid crystal polymer (an A-material) having a cyano biphenyl group in a side chain, and a low molecular compound (a B-material) having a cyano biphenyl group and an anthracene group, wherein the mixed ratio of the A-material (monomer units) to the B-material is 3:1-10:1, and a light irradiated part is the amorphous phase, while a non-irradiation part is the solid phase with liquid crystal orientation. The method for manufacturing the optical information recording medium, the optical information recording method using the optical information recording medium, the optical information record reading method and the optical information record erasing method are also provided. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
