<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transceiver capable of increasing and decreasing the numbers of optical transmitters and optical receivers without need for replacing a controller receiving a state value indicating an operating state of an optical transceiver. <P>SOLUTION: An optical transceiver includes: optical communication devices 3a, 3b for receiving or transmitting an optical signal; a controller 7 for receiving a state value signal indicating a state value corresponding to an operating state of the optical communication device 3a or the like from the optical communication devices 3a, 3b; and an analog switching device 9 for turning on/off the state value signal input to the controller 7 from the optical communication devices 3a, 3b. The controller 7 receives the state value signal from the optical communication device 3a or the like via the analog switching device 9 and outputs a control signal for controlling the analog switching device 9 to the analog switching device 9.
