摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of controlling a plate thickness in a rolling mill, in which, in controlling a plate thickness using a gage meter device, a rolling-load dependent error is estimated to enable the plate thickness to be controlled with a high accuracy. <P>SOLUTION: The method of controlling plate thickness in a rolling mill includes: calculating a last-pass plate thickness error between an actually measured plate thickness actually measured on the exit side of a last pass of a rolled material and an estimated post-last-pass plate thickness calculated from a gage meter device, and a mid-pass plate thickness error between an actually measured plate thickness actually measured on the exit side of a mid-pass antecedent to the last pass and an estimated post-mid-pass plate thickness calculated from a gage meter device; and estimating a calculation error in mill stretch quantity from both of a difference of the plate thickness error between the last-pass plate thickness error and the mid-pass plate thickness error and a rolling load difference between rolling loads in the last pass and the mid-pass. Specifically, the difference of the plate thickness error and the rolling load difference are obtained for a plurality of rolled materials, a correction coefficient is calculated from the obtained values for a calculation error in the mill stretch quantity per unit rolling load, and a product value of the correction coefficient and the rolling load in the next or succeeding rolling is inputted to the gage meter device to apply the resultant to the next or succeeding rolling. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
