FILTER, WAVEGUIDE JOINT USING THE SAME, RADAR DEVICE, AND MAGNETRON

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetron and a radar device of a smaller size which comprises a filter for removing spurious radiation.

SOLUTION: A filer comprises: a columnar inner conductor 1 of conductivity; an external conductor 2 of conductivity to cover the whole circumference. The inner conductor 1 has a gap part 3 formed substantially in parallel to the center axis of the column over a prescribed length. The length of the gap part 3 is substantially a quarter of the wavelength corresponding to the frequency of the main vibration mode of the radio wave when used as a passing bandpass filter. When used to remove an unwanted component such as spurious radiation, the length of the gap part 3 is substantially a quarter of the wavelength corresponding to the frequency of the component. The filter is positioned to coincide with the center axis of a cathod of a magnetron, which is made of a cathode on the center axis and an anode in which anode vanes are arranged on the circumference. A radar device has a configuration in which the filter is positioned inside a waveguide to waveguide the radio wave between the magnetron and the antenna.
