<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a step-switching support device in order to make the step-switching work efficient when attaching and detaching an electronic component to and from a mounting device. <P>SOLUTION: A step-switching support device stores an identifier to specify a component to be mounted on a board unit and an identifier to specify a jig with a component attached by corresponding the two. The step-switching support device stores an identifier to specify the board unit and an identifier to specify a component mounted on the board unit by corresponding the two. When a mounting device generates a new board unit, the step-switching support device specifies an identifier of a new component showing a component to be mounted on the new board unit and an identifier of the current component showing a component which is mounted on the board unit currently produced by the mounting device. The step-switching support device compares the identifier of the specified new component and the identifier of the current component to specify a component out of the current components, which is not included in the new components.
