<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic apparatus having dictionary functions that allows a user to increase learning effect by further improving retrieval efficiency using retrieval history. <P>SOLUTION: When an arbitrary entry word from a common list of entry words resulting from an entry word retrieval in a designated dictionary is selected and explanatory information thereof is displayed, key words (such as noun words) included in the explanatory information are sequentially retrieved and registered as key word indices such that the keywords are mapped to the entry words and dictionary information of the explanatory information. When a desired retrieval word (Ek) is input, entry words whose beginning matches the retrieval word are retrieved from the dictionary and displayed in an entry word list area Ea, and keyword entry words matching the retrieval word are retrieved from the keyword index and displayed in a keyword entry word list area Eb.
