PURPOSE: A probe protector oligonucleotide for detecting improved CATACLEAVE^TM probe is provided to ensure quick and accurate detection. CONSTITUTION: A probe protector oligonucleotide has R3-X'-R4 structure which is substantially complementary to an oligonucleotide probe of R1-X-R2. The melting temperature of the probe protector oligonucleotide is lower than the melting temperature of an oligonucleotide which is hybridized with a target nucleic acid sequence.
