<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrosurgical instrument, not requiring a surgeon to continuously monitor an electrosurgical power generator during a surgical procedure. <P>SOLUTION: The electrosurgical pencil includes: an elongated housing; an electrocautery electrode supported within the housing and extending distally from the housing; a plurality of activation switches supported on the housing; and at least one return control wire electrically connected to a supply source of electrosurgical energy, which is at least one voltage divider network supported on the housing, and electrically connecting the electrocautery electrode and the supply source of the electrosurgical energy to each other. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
