<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image expansion circuit capable of outputting a high-resolution and clear image by reducing sharpness deterioration in the case of expanding a source image. <P>SOLUTION: The image expansion circuit comprises: storage means for storing a source image; an edge extraction circuit which extracts only an edge from the source image and outputs thereof as an edge extraction image; a first expansion processing circuit for expanding the edge extraction image at a predetermined magnification ratio; a second expansion processing circuit for expanding the source image at a predetermined magnification ratio; and an edge processing circuit which improves the resolution of the edge component of the source image expanded by the second expansion circuit, in accordance with edge data of the edge extraction image expanded by the first expansion circuit. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
