<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve both of "high compression of video" and "accuracy maintenance of super-resolution restoration" in image encoding/decoding. <P>SOLUTION: A video encoding system of the invention comprises: a video encoding device which performs compression encoding of an encoding object image after, as preprocessing of the performing of encoding, performing area division into a super-resolution capable area of a motion area where a translation approximation of motion can be performed, a singular area of the motion area where the translation approximation can not be performed, and a flat/still area and transmitting the result of the division to a decoding device as side information; and the decoding device which classifies input blocks encoded by the encoding device into the motion area, a texture, and a flat area for each block based on the side information obtained from the decoding device, performs super-resolution restoration which estimates a piece of high-resolution image from a plurality of observation images for the motion area, and performs interpolation for the other areas. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
