PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the amount of color material used for color printing without causing strangeness to a printed matter.

SOLUTION: A contour image generation part 110 generates a contour image by extracting a contour area of an object in an input image 200. A single-color conversion part 120 converts the color of the object into a single color. A contour composition part 130 combines the object having the color thereof converted into a single color with the contour image to generate an output image 300.
