<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for reducing UEP (Underwater Electric Potential) of a hull, for enhancing the navigational safety of a ship by reducing UEP generated around the hull. <P>SOLUTION: A tank 70 storing a liquid having a conductivity smaller than that of seawater is provided inside a ship 11 floating on seawater 40. An ejection device 10 for ejecting the liquid in the tank 70 into the seawater is provided on a ship bottom. The liquid having the conductivity smaller than that of the seawater is ejected from the ejection device 10 into the seawater around a hull metal. Then, the liquid having the conductivity smaller than that of the seawater is mixed with the seawater 40, the resulting mixture becomes, in a vicinity of the hull metal, a medium 41 having the conductivity smaller than that of the seawater. Since the hull voltage is unchanged, a corrosion current 20 which is generated from a vicinity of an anode 30 and flows into a vicinity of a cathode 31 is reduced. As a result, UEP caused by the corrosion current 20 and the corrosion current magnetic field 21 can be reduced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
