ROTATIONAL POLYGON MIRROR AND LIGHT SCANNING UNIT EMPLOYING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A rotating polygon mirror and an optical scanning apparatus using the same are provided to minimize performance degradation which is created due to deformation by a centrifugal force in rotation. CONSTITUTION: A rotating polygon mirror(10) has four reflecting surfaces(15). A hole(18) is prepared to be combined with a spindle motor at a central part. The body(11) of the rotating polygon mirror is made of plastic like epoxy. The reflecting surface is made of a metal film like aluminum or silver which has an excellent reflection characteristic. A bonding layer improves the adhesion of the metal layer between the metal film and the body.
