PURPOSE: A composition containing Poria cocos for treaitng prostate cancer is provided to suppress proliferation of prostate cancer and to induce cancer cell apoptosis. CONSTITUTION: A composition for treating prostate cancer contains Poria cocos. An anticancer composition contains Poria cocos as an active ingredient and additionally contains pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or diluents. The composition is alternately used with other cancer therapy such as radiation or chemotherapy.
