PURPOSE: A functional film manufacturing method is provided to manufacture a given shape of a functional film by cutting a support consisting of organic compound and a raw film consisting of inorganic compound. CONSTITUTION: A functional film manufacturing method is as follows. Raw films(12a,12b,12c) with a support consisting of organic compound and an inorganic film(14) consisting of inorganic compound are cut at a temperature over the glass transition temperature of the support to form a given shape of a functional film. The cutting position of the raw film becomes a temperature over the glass transition temperature of the support by the heating of a blade cutting the raw film, the cutting of the raw film by laser, and the heating of the raw film before cutting with a contact or non-contact heating unit.
